---This is going to be a long answer---
Our High-Back Armchair 2.0 is unique in the market because it can be packed down very small, yet its size and height are greater than typical chairs. Although it's certainly not as light as the common low-back folding chairs, as long as it packs down small enough and the weight is acceptable, we have plenty of room to focus on improving comfort.
To reduce the complexity of folding, we designed this X frame. Thanks to this structure, the four legs can be separated, turning it into a ground chair which is great for beaches.
Then we thought, why not make the four legs adjustable in height (to fit people of different heights), and along the way, we added the feature of adjustable angles (so you can sit upright or recline with just one chair).
You may notice that the 2.0 chair also has dedicated armrests. We agree that these more prominent armrests not only enhance the functional experience but also make it easier for people to appreciate their benefits from pictures or videos.
However, in the end, we decided to remove them from the new GrandPeak chair. If we added dedicated armrests, it would require more metal materials and fabric, significantly increasing the chair's weight.
After many trials with the current GrandPeak armrests, we found that they are quite comfortable because they support your arm naturally in a good position, and that's important for long-time comfort (although they don't make their benefits immediately apparent in appearance).
Another feature we added after careful consideration of weight and comfort is the pillow. Although it adds weight, this seemingly simple feature greatly enhances comfort, so we decided to include it. Moreover, because this chair is relatively high, we extended the pillow's adjustment and enlarged the back velcro area to better accommodate different body sizes, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the pillow's comfort.
Other handy features, such as the front and side mesh pockets and the cupholder, were adjustments based on long-term use and customer feedback. Thank you everyone.
Last but not least, we’ve redesigned the footrest that everyone loved on the High-Back Armchair 2.0. We took all the feedback from the last version—like the limited extension, weight support issues, and single-use problems—and gave it a complete makeover.
First off, we used a sturdier structure, so now it's still super easy to set up but can handle more weight. With that extra weight capacity, we thought, why not turn it into a stool? Now, it doubles as a really lightweight backpacking chair.
Thanks to this new design, we got rid of the old connecting rod, so people of different heights can use it comfortably. Plus, we made sure the storage bag fits perfectly into the side mesh pocket of the GrandPeak Chair, making it super convenient.
Oh, and here’s a little pro tip: a lot of people are using this handy stool and footrest as a small table too. Pretty cool, right?
